Preaching Post Fridays

Intentional Preaching

Picture of Book Intentional Preaching

Today’s Preaching Post Fridays post recommends an excellent resource by Meirwyn Walters, the “friendly lawyer” of the Evangelical Homiletics Society and son of Gwyn Walters, legendary Welsh pastor and teacher of preachers.

Walters is a trial attorney by trade, but knows what he’s talking about when it comes to preaching! In this book he gives “a view from the pew,” challenging preachers to think about–really think about–why they do everything they do in preaching.

Readers can dip into the book at any point and read just a page or two to be helped immensely. What is more, Walters is a good writer with a terrific sense of humor. I literally laughed out loud more than a few times as I read this book!
