Baptism And Temptation

Today’s Theology Thursdays post contains a presentation that briefly overviews two significant events in the life of Christ: baptism and temptation.

I especially enjoy reflecting on Christ’s wilderness temptation. Whereas Adam and Eve failed in their wilderness of the Garden (Genesis 3) and the Israelites failed in their wilderness of wandering (Numbers 11-25), Jesus never faltered but fully obeyed the Father, fulfilling the law to the letter.

Jesus also used the same resource available to us when battling temptation: the Scriptures. I hope you’re reading the Word daily!
