Today’s “Theology Thursdays” post is essentially a teaching outline by Dr. Danny Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
As we continue to reflect on the substitutionary nature of the atonement, we recall that Christ’s death is a sacrifice offered in the sinner’s place. Thus His sacrifice bears the sinner’s guilt.
In Psalm 22, David prophetically anticipates substitutionary death though it would not come until about a thousand years later. Simply remarkable.
