Today’s “Theology Thursdays” post is essentially a teaching outline by Dr. Danny Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
As we continue to reflect on the substitutionary nature of the atonement, we recall that Christ’s death is a sacrifice offered in the place of the sinner. Thus His sacrifice bears the sinner’s guilt.
In Psalm 22, David prophetically anticipates that substitutionary death though it would not come until about a thousand years later. Simply remarkable.
